Cycling

Successful cyclists know how to sit in the saddle. In order to win you need to be efficient yet effective. In cycling this means staying incredibly aerodynamic but unfortunately the sustained flexed posture on the saddle often leads to discomfort, pain and injury off the saddle.

Including Pilates as part of training can help cyclists to balance out the body, maintain a more efficient posture both on and off the bike whilst improving their body awareness. Often the front of the body will become tight and suffer from overuse, particularly over the shoulders and hips, eventually leading to injury. Pilates helps to ‘OPEN UP’ the front of the trunk, lengthening out the spine and balancing the strength around the joints, allowing them to move and function more efficiently.
