What do State Registered Podiatrists & Chiropodists do?
A medical history is taken from every new patient at the initial consultation. This initial consultation will usually include footwear and foot care advice. Consideration of the medical history, combined with a physical assessment, is used to formulate a diagnosis. A comprehensive treatment plan will then be discussed with the patient.
If the symptoms may benefit from further biomechanical evaluation and tests, resulting in orthotic therapy then the chiropodist may arrange a separate appointment or refer the patient to see the podiatrist for in-depth gait analysis.
